Just a month after his February Kyoto tour of “Special Workshop” and Gala “A World of John Neumeier,” we’ve got happy news from Hamburg, Germany.
There was an announcement of an extension of the contract as Artistic Director and Chief Choreographer of the Hamburg Ballet until 2023. Neumeier will be running the Hamburg Ballet for half a century since initially appointed in 1973. The repertoire of the Hamburg Ballet includes all 158 of John Neumeier’s choreographies, and his company has given over 1,000 performances during 331 tours in 30 countries on five continents.
Neumeier mentioned “he has various expectations, e.g. from our renowned tour partners in Tokyo, Moscow and Vienna. Main focus is to enrich the cultural life of human kind.”
We wish John Neumeier continued success from now on. Congratulations!
